Uniform Business Rate
The Uniform Business Rate (UBR) is the multiplier, set by government, used to calculate the rates payable from the Rateable Value.

Rates Relief
Small Business Relief
Small business relief is available to businesses with a Rateable Value of less than £15,000. If your Rateable Value is £12,000 or less then you may be entitled to up to 100% relief. If your Rateable Value is between £12,001 and £15,000 you may also qualify for small business relief.
Rural Rate Relief
If your business is in a rural area where the population is under 3,000 then you could get between 50% and 100% off your business rates.
Charitable Rates Relief
Charities receive 80% mandatory relief. An extra discretionary relief is also sometimes provided.
Non-profit organisations may apply for discretionary relief of up to 100%.
